Obituary
Oswald, John (John O, Big John) passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Branford Hospice. John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robyn Knapp. John was born on April 12, 1951, in New Haven and grew up in East Haven. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam war as a Marine.
John was an auto body mechanic by trade. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, going to the casino, and playing cards with his buddies.
Besides his wife, John leaves behind his siblings, Evelyn, Joan, Joseph, & Donald, he was predeceased by sister Elaine. He also leaves behind several nieces & nephews, extended family members & friends, as well as his devoted canine companions, Darby & Odie.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Agnes Cemetery, East Main Street, Branford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main Street, Branford, CT 06405.
