Englander, Patricia Julia, 84 years old, of Milford, beloved wife of Saul G. Englander, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2022. Born on January 14, 1938 in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert Amodio and Dorothy Sebastian Amodio.
Patricia grew up in the Bronx and Pelham Bay New York and Westport, Connecticut. She then moved to Bayview Beach in Milford Connecticut where she began a real estate business and investment company with her husband.
She is survived by her children Lori (Doug) Kennedy, Alyce (Mark) Givarz, John (Karen) Hofferman, Sheri (Ralph) Ventricelli, Jr., Peter (Joanne) Hofferman and Mark (Karen) Englander, her grandchildren Daniel (Catherine Freeland) Ventricelli, Matthew Ventricelli, Gil and Raymond Hofferman, Erin (Lee) Howson, Glen and Steven Givarz, Jeffrey and Michael Williston and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Donald Hofferman and her brother Albert “Buddy” Amodio.
Patricia was passionate about her family and her friends and made every single day “wonderful, fabulous and sparkling”. She loved her years at Bayview Beach and loved to travel with her husband and family. Her goal everyday was to make others happy. She spent her last couple of years at Maplewood Senior Living and was viewed as the “Mayor of Maplewood” by her resident friends. She had a big personality and will be missed by all.
Patricia will be interred at the State Veteran Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. At Patricia’s request, there will be no public funeral or memorial service. Instead, she asked that friends gather with their families, hold and hug each other. Because of her immense love of the shoreline, it would be great to visit a beach when you are able, knowing when you walk on the sand, and feel the wind in your hair, she will be there.
A private memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
